Ten Years of Endless War
Well it’s been ten years since our stupid ass war in Iraq started. Shock and Awe! Freedom Fries! Mission Accomplished!
Who could have guessed it was all based on lies and would become an infinite waste of life, blood and fortune? (Besides anybody who was paying attention).
But “I told you so” and $3.95 gets you a gallon of gas these days.
In 2005 I wrote Beware of Tigers, which was meant to be an allegory against war, lies, liars and willing dupes. But don’t worry, it was roundly ignored and quickly fell out of print, proving my hero Kurt Vonnegut correct when he wrote “You know what I say to people when I hear they’re writing anti-war books? … I say, ‘Why don’t you write an anti-glacier book instead?’”
